The part alone is $154 at O'reilly's. I'm having to drive my vehicle with an extremely hard brake pedal until I can get up enough funds to fix it. Parts and labor quote at a local shop was $600. This is only one of the few problems that I am dealing with. My Ford edge is having all kinds of problems.

that is covered under the Extended Warranty for 10 years or 150,000 miles.why pay for it? 7 model years affected: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 < Ford Edge Problems Extended Warranty on Brake Booster on Ford Edge Problem Description and Possible Solution Bulletin 13N02 - This program extends the coverage of the brake booster to ten years of service or 150,000 miles from the warranty start of the vehicle, whichever occurs first. This is a one time repair program. In some of the affected vehicles, it is possible for the brake booster to develop a small tear in the diaphragm under certain driving and environmental conditions. If this occurs, the driver may hear a hissing noise while depressing the pedal and may also experience a "spongy" pedal feel without a noticeable effect on braking performance. If the vehicle is not serviced, the tear will eventually expand and the pedal effort required to stop the vehicle will gradually increase. However, in all cases, the fundamental vehicle braking system remains functional. Yeh I found out about that so I called JC Lewis and spoke to my Service Rep and he said unfortunately, mine would not be covered! I wound up paying out of pocket. This is the worst vehicle I've ever owned in my life.....problem after problem!
don't know why they wouldn't cover it? that don't sound right unless you have more miles than allowed? if not happy with the car, then sell it or trade it for a more reliable one...best to try and sell it,cause they sure don't give you anything when trading it in!
I called my local dealer as well. All are not covered. This is onlying for vehicles manufacturered at a specific plant during a specific time period. Considering all the complai.tsg I have found it seems there should have been a recall or more vehicles should be covered.
well,i really hate that for both of you..i have a Ford, but it's an 2000 F150.as of today it has 319,000 miles on it,yep i have to add oil,BUT it runs very good and quiet too,and i would rather add oil than replace an engine that just uses oil, which most do anyways.good luck to both of you..Oh,and call this number,it may or may not work?Ford's Customer Service Number is 1-800-392-3673.
