What is your question?
Overheating and AC blows hot only while ideling. Once accelerating temp returns to normal and air is cold again. I read your response to others and am wondering what is included in the fan assembly
What makes this problem better or worse?
When ideling only
How long has your 2008 Ford Edge had this problem?
First noticed ac wasn't blowing cold ideling had freon checked it was fine and while doing that noticed fan was not coming on

The cooling fans come as a complete assembly - remove defective assembly and install new replacement assembly - that's it.
I wouldn't replace the fan assembly until testing is done to find out why the fans aren't coming on,rare for both fans to go out at the same time. condenser fan should come on as soon as A/C is turned on or both will.couple different fan assemblies for your vehicle>Without trailer towing package>Dual fan assembly. With class II trailer towing package, but testing required before replacing!
Everything is contained within the assembly - including the ‘fan control module’.. There are fuses in under hood fuse box for the fans - however every one of these I have *tested and repaired* at the shop has been a failed fan assembly - it was actually the fan control module - can’t get individual replacement parts - just the assembly - which is the best replacement anyway - failing fan motor(s) is what eventually destroys the fan control module - which controls *both* fans. The ‘aftermarket assemblies’ seem to be working just fine. Hint > there will be TWO cooling fan fuses in under hood fuse box - ‘IF’ equipped with towing package. See page 261 in owners manual. Good luck!
Thank you for your response. As i understand it, the fan m;otor, and the fan control module are all included with the cooling fan assembly. I also, need to ask, if and when replacing this fan assembly can you recommend pulling the fan unit without having to drain the radiator? I have reasearched and found that it is possible to remover/replace with some finagling as opposed to having drain radiator. yet Hays book reccomends doing just that???
Still trouble shooting this problem. Am laboring over the use of the "Multimeter device". but working on that and will fail not! (eventually) Is there a problem driving my car as long as the temperature stays normal??? And it does as long as I'm hwy driving. Temp has only gone hot once while sitting at drive thru.
if you want to drive it,and it's 104 degrees there today and take a chance on causing severe damage to your engine,go ahead! you need to get some hands on HELP.
Yes I agree I need help! Are your hands busy or can you recommend someone in my area? Ha! Have ordered the part from Rockauto and should be here by the 8th june.
