try using some lube on it

I believe I have to get the hood to open to get access to an area that can be lubed. Do you know of a way I can do that without opening the hood? I found a video on how to release the hood latch on a Ford F150 pickup truck but it is not the same type of latch on a 2005 Econoline E250 van.
