Unfortunately (in reality) all we can do is guess at it and that really doesn't help... Installing parts that it may not need just winds up costing more money .. Hands-on testing required .. No spark can result from: a failed ignition switch, ignition control module, ignition coil, distributor, wiring, shorted sensor or ECM. .......... Plus the vehicle may not even be equipped with some of the parts that are suggested as the culprit and that only complicates things more!
Its a 92 Ford E150 converssion van so yes its old. I just had the ignition coil changed & it still wont start.
Fords don't get old, just get better..I had a 94 150 with the 5.8L in it.best vehicle i have ever had!! it was just that a rollback hit me and caved the whole drivers side in!! bought it back from insurance company and drove it a while longer until i found another little newer F150..you could have taken the coil and the ignition control module off,and parts house will test them,FREE!! did you not read Pushrods answer on not to replace parts that you won't need, and TESTING needed to be done to find the cause?
Ya its been a very good vehicle. Still is. I had all original parts when i bought it so im not supried that they are now needing fixed. My brother used to work in a mechanic shop & hes been the one helping me. Hes just stummped.

you're welcome.it could be as simple as the cap and rotor,or could get a little more involved in testing. The ignition control module is the one that activates the ignition coil.all the testing is in the link i just sent you.post findings ...
