Shift to *neutral* and try to start.. Most likely clutch is not releasing... Hydraulic clutch - master cylinder possibly low on fluid.. Needs to be inspected and check out hands-on to determine .
Check your clutch switch, if it faulty or out of adjustment it will give you a no start condition, right behind the clutch pedal. while pressing the actual switch with your hand not the pedal, try turning it on. On neutral of course.
Switch must be working since as stated.."car rocks back and forth" while trying to start > *crank* .. (Clutch is not releasing) and transmission is in gear moving the car.. (Cranking in gear with no clutch)...Battery most likely discharged now from trying to crank engine with failed clutch/trans in gear...That's the way I read it anyway... Unless the switch has also failed since all of this started...but that's not likely..
Tried it in neutral it still won't start but it no longer rocks. It only rocked when I had left it in gear w/cluch in and tried to start it
With trans in neutral, clutch pedal depressed... IF starter will not crank the engine over and *battery is fully charged*... Only thing I can suggest is try to turn engine manually (with tools) to see if it will even turn... Failed clutch should not cause a no crank condition with transmission in neutral..!!.. That's not making any sense!
Thanks for answering my questions so quickly I appreciate it
