My truck is a daily driver but I recently had a mechanic replace the fuel pump and sending unit. Now after a few weeks when I hit a bumpy road or a bump it shuts the fuel pump off. I can wiggle the pump on top of the tank on the sending unit and every now and then it turns the pump back on. What do I do. I've worked on vehicles for awhile but this is new to me.

sometimes,if its like mine or,maybe different.the harness that comes off my truck has 4 pins in the plug, female.what i have seen happen,is people, maybe not you,but i almost did this.they start having fuel pump problems, start checking voltage from fuse to relay, relay to inertia switch, inertia switch to fuel pump connector, they do this with a volt meter, and stick the leads from the volt meter down inside the female pins and it spreads the pin,it should be done by inserting a test pin or key in the back of the plug, where the wires go in,to keep from opening the female pins up,and now they are larger, and when you plug male end back, its a loose connection, sometimes work, hit a bump and dont make contact.then you wiggle and it makes contact.just a thought.let me know what you find.good luck.
Got it figured out. I made an access panel to the pump and checked the wiring it was good but noticed that the plug was really loose. Well comes to find out that the tabs can no longer latch on. So I have it put on and am grabbing something to wedge it on so it will stay on.
Yes that's connected to the sending unit on the tank.
