check all connections including grounds.make em all clean and shiny.
The two wire plug to the alternator. On my 2003 stratus the DG wire is 12 volts and the other wire BK/TN is suppose to be ground that goes to a junction where it converts to a black wire and then goes to G103 ground.I've been trying for a month to fix this no charging issue even purchased a voltage regulator and mounted it in front of the fans cause it got hotter than a *********************t. A few days ago I cleaned the G103 ground apparently not good enough.Tomorrow I will jump the BK/TN wire to ground and hope. Two new Alternators,1 new Bat,1 PCM later
ck all wire connections and ground wires are ok, removed alternator and had it tested they tell me is fine. the alternator is receiving 12 volts dc not 4.8 but is not working, when I turn head lights on voltage drops to 9 to 10 volts
with the car off,the battery voltage should be about 12.6 volts DC.with the car running, the battery voltage should be around 13.5-15.0 volts DC.you are missing something somewhere.either a ground is missing or not tight, corroded,or you have a short somewhere.if you are 100% sure the battery and the alternator is good, and not shorted, then i'm lost.that's one of those good designs that chrysler came up with and put the stupid battery in the left front wheel well!
I only see one ground from battery neg to frame to engine, I will clean and see. let me know if there is another. I ck red wire from alternator to starter to batt positive and is fine
