My 2007 Dodge Nitro gas pump stays on when I turn off my car. It completely drains my battery each time. No engine lights come up either. I tried changing the M25 fuse and it still doesn't work like it should.

Yes, sorry. But yes to everthing you had asked. I did what u said and It wouldn't crank, so I replaced the rely and it worked great until I turned off the car and turned it on again and it stop working. I can't hear the pump running anymore though.
i don't think it's going to help, but put the old relay back in,see what happens.turn key to on,not start 3 or 4 times to prime the line, then try to start it.
Ok, so I just did exactly that but with the new rely. I put the key in the ignition I didn't fully crank it just turned it and turned it back off for 3 or 4 times. On the last turn I fully cranked the car and it turned on just fine.
so everything is ok now, correct?the car is starting and running, correct?old relay or new relay in?fuel pump still running when you turn the car off now?
The fuel pump does turn off when the car is off and the car does start with the new rely. But if I turn it off it won't turn on again unless I put the key in the ignition and take it back out a few times and try turning it on it will start. Could there be a problem under the fuse box that controls the rely?
sorry for the late reply, left and just got back.so it's working, but not exactly like it's suppose to.the fuel pump fuse sends power to the relay to turn the fuel pump on for 2 seconds when the key is turned to on,not crank, then the pump turns off.(this is to prime the fuel line).then when the key is turned to the crank position the fuel pump comes back on and runs until you turn the car off again.unless you have a loose connection in the relay socket where the relay plugs in, or a loose wire under the fuse box,i don't know.or the fuel pump is getting weak.
how long did it run when you found out it was killing your battery, how many times/days?also try this, turn key to on,not start, you should hear the fuel pump prime(humm)for 2 seconds, then it cuts off, then try starting it without turning the key to off.
Well the pump would stay on for a whole hour after I would turn the car off then drain my battery and wouldn't start back up after that. But this morning I put the key in the ignition without starting it and I could hear the pump flowing the Humm sound and I could hear a click. I left it with the key in for a few seconds and tried turning it on. It didn't start. So I did it a few more times just like yesterday and it would want to crank up like it's actually turning on then immediately shut off. I tried it a few more times until I gave up and thought I add more gasoline to make it flow a lot better. Tried it again the same way with the key in the ignition waiting a few seconds and it still didn't work. Finally from soo many attempts it killed my battery and shut off completely. It probably is a wiring problem within the fuse box or maybe the whole fuse box itself?
you may have a problem with the ignition switch sticking, keep the power on the relay to run the fuel pump.the electrical part of the switch, not the key cylinder.becuase when you turn the key to on,the fuse sends power to the relay?
Just wanted to update you on what I've done to my nitro. So after my car died completely from so many attempts from trying to prime the car to start I decided to buy a new battery today. I swapped them out and my car started perfect. I turned it off to see if it would start again. It didnt, it wanted to but would shut off half way but if I tried to start it again it would turned on perfect again on the 2 attempt. So tomorrow I plan on changing the fuel filter to see if that might be a problem since it's close to 200 miles on it. Thanks for the help. Hopefully my car goes back to normal.
Hello,
Just wanted to update you on what's been going on since I "Fixed" my nitro. The new battery only worked for about a week. My nitro would not start in the mornings even after priming it, it would still not turn on. So I finally gave in and bought a brand new gas pump from Advance for $343. After it was installed my car turn on fine but immediately gave out again and would not start. I took it to a mechanic and diagnosed it. He said it was a TIPM (Total Intergrated Power Module) problem, it needs to be replace because it's not giving power to the pump fuses. Which will cost me $637 from Dodge not including labor and reprogramming it.
Ok, I'll give it a try
do it after the car is turned off,NOT when running.post results.
I replaced the fuel pump rely. It did start my car. I turned it off and on again and it wouldn't crank. It tries to crank but won't turn on
ok,so the pump is not running since the new relay put in,correct.you must have modified your last question while i was typing.
