It would be in your best interest to have a professional do a FULL scan test (ALL MODULES) to determine what has failed .. Parts stores are not equipped to do this kind of testing... Without the proper testing - the only alternative is guessing at it. â–ªï¸https://repairpal.com/repair-shopsâ–ªï¸
What did you find out? This same exact thing happened to mine this weekend!
A common culprit is a failed CLOCK SPRING in the steering column..

Unfortunately - the people who ask questions on this site rarely ever reply to the answers they get .. That’s a shame as it would be most beneficial to others with similar concerns..
Yes it would. Thank you for your feedback.
Can get the sensor at advanced for like $25-$40. Tread quarters charges $153 for the sensor, dodge dealership will charge $411 for the sensor. Some used tire places will replace them for about $100.
Just curious - exactly ‘WHICH’ “sensor” should be replaced ??
Here is a link to some very interesting reading on this exact same problem on the exact same type vehicle that was finally ‘FIXED’ by installing the **CLOCK SPRING** inside the steering column - - enjoy: https://www.justanswer.com/dodge/9760n-dodge-durango-2007-dodge-durango-5-7l-esp-bas-traction.html Good luck to all.. Happy motoring !
IF you can hear a *clicking noise* in the steering column - when turning steering wheel - mention that to the mechanic as well .. It might just be a valuable clue.
