Does the 'bearing noise go away , and for HOW LONG between each replacement? Improper installation of bearing , or poor quality part. Failed switch and/or wiring problem for wipers/lights , testing is better than guessing.
Yes it goes away, but only for a month or less. Bought the lifetime bearings at Advance. As for the wipers and lights...that has been checked ...but didn't find anything. Was wondering if there might be a recall on these things.
Get your money back from Advance and buy a 'real' bearing/hub assembly from the dealer or NAPA , and use a torque wrench to tighten to proper specs! Check with DEALER , with VIN# for any open recalls.
OK.....thanks for the " to the point " advice. Evidently I have just been getting the run around from other people.
Are you doing the install yourself , or having someone do it for you each time? Even though I personally think advance parts are crap , it's pretty strange that even there ,you would get so many bad bearings in a row. That's what leads me to believe it's an install problem. Trying to help , not be mean!! Sorry if the response came off wrong! And , curious , what is the run-around , you've been getting?
No, I'm not doing the installing, my dad knows somebody that has a shop......but I call the mechanic a shade tree mechanic....lol. I've just been told over and over again that I have something else wrong with my Durango besides the bearings. But I am inclined to believe you that it is not being installed properly. I just can't afford too much at this point. And the wipers, they tell me nothing is wrong with the motor....that just happens. I know better than that. And thank you for apologizing. Sorry, I'm on my own and just trying to figure these things out.
IF you can , without offending anyone , and also without voiding the bearing warranty , see if you can get it to a different shop for the next bearing/hub install.if it's gonna be a few weeks , start a new post and have a reference to 'that idiot ziptie12' so it'll catch my eye. I'm curious to see if it is the install or the bearing. AND you might get a diagnosis on the other if those problems are present while it's at the shop. Just one other thing to say and take it lightly , it is only my opinion (but lot's of posters and paraphrased sayings to the same effect) - quality counts , no matter what the cost.Do it once right , or , .......you know? Hope things go better next time. Don't forget 'that idiot ziptie12'!
Lol....OK....thanks for all your info. And I will definitely let you know as soon as I get it taken care of. Thanks again !
