Yep,they are guessing at it,and you are forking out the $$$$ for guess work! why not go to Autozone,get them to read the code/codes,have them print them out for you(it's free)post the codes here,maybe you can fix it yourself?

I got an 04 Durango SLT with the hemi, the check engine light came on and the code is p 0456 small evap leak. I was told it was the gas cap, I replaced the gas cap and 5 days later the light is back on. The woman I got it from said the dealership told her for two years it was no big deal when it came on and would just reset it. I want it fixed? Does it need a software update or is something else wrong??? Help!!!
