I have a knock coming from the passenger side on the top end .

You may want an experienced professionals ear to check the 'knock', BEFORE it's no longer repairable. Just so you understand why I say that- whoever suggested that the knock 'sensor' was causing it, needs to understand the term 'sensor', certain engine noises can sound bad and be (relatively) simple, others, sound not so bad, but left ignored or mid-diagnosed, can be very expensive!!
