2002 dodge durango 2wd

i have a dodge durango it starts fine but when you shut the engine off it stays running and the lites on the dashboard turn on if you turn the key to the on possition the lites go off the only way i can shut it off is by pulling the engine fuse off and if i take battery negative cable off and put it back on it does like the problemis not there it turns off and on but if i drive it for a little bit it will do it again don't know why?
