What is your question?
I've read the cause of this issue is a faulty low pressure sump pump located in the oil pan.I cannot validate this but if I'm going to drop the pan to clean the pick-up screen would it make sense to replace the pump as well?

If you have changed your engine oil at the recommended intervals, you should not have any sludge build up in your crankcase. You may have a milky film on your Oil Fill cap which is caused by condensation and is quite normal. However, your engine oil should be clean, transparent amber/brown color. Install a manual test pressure gauge at the oil pressure sending unit. Run engine until thermostat opens. Oil Pressure: Curb Idle—25 Kpa (4 psi) minimum , 3000 rpm—170 - 550 KPa (25 - 80 psi) , If oil pressure is 0 at idle, shut off engine. Check for a clogged oil pick-up screen or a pressure relief valve stuck open. Consistantly low oil pressure may be caused by a faulty oil pump or excessive bearing clearances. .
To get to the pickup screen, the transmission has to be disconnected and moved out of the way. After doing that (In case it is just the pickup screen), Is access to the main bearing in the same area? The guy who just did the oil pump said there was a lot of play in it but, that was in the front where the work was done. I'm getting a bad feeling about this
