popping sound or clicking sound on a Dodge Durango 2000 model 4.7. I was told it was a bad coil pack on the number 8 cylinder so I replaced that with no difference. Also when I accelerate the motor bogs down and makes a popping sound. Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad misfire. Are you getting a flashing check engine light? Alex
Based on the posted description//symptoms > The 4.7L has had problems with the exhaust valve seats dropping out of the cylinder head and keeping the valve from fully closing .. A simple compression test OR removing valve cover will likely reveal the problem. The cam follower is usually found laying to one side as the valve spring cannot return to its normal height and proper valve lash. Good luck - I really do hope I'm wrong on this one - however have done been there.
