when i turn it over i can hear the fuel pump but when u spray starter fluid it wont start

If it is not 'turning over' no amount of starter fluid will help. Start with the charging system (battery check first for proper voltage) and then have starting motor tested to see if it has failed.
you are correct,csubak30!maybe i misunderstood their question!! (when i turn it over) i can hear the fuel pump but when u spray starter fluid (it wont start)
I got a new battery being told that could be the problem.Maybe the story will help i was driving to the gas station my truck was on e as i made it to the pump it started putting once i put the gas in it and drove about 2 miles it just cut off so i started it again and it putted but wouldnt start when u trying to start it it seems like its out of gas but wont start i was told fuel pump but i can hear the pump
so it is cranking over, but not starting?you could have sucked some crap into the fuel pump, your fuel filter is built into the fuel pump assembly,NO EXTERNAL FILTER!i understand you hear the fuel pump coming on,but is the fuel making it to the rail, and how much fuel pressure are you getting?you can rent a fuel pressure tester at Autozone.it is $150.00 to rent it,but you get all your money back when you return it.the main thing,IS THE ENGINE SPINNING OVER?
It has spark it just wont turn over
