my 2001 dodge dakota making noise when i put it in 4 wheel drive

POSSIBLE TRANSFER CASE PROBLEMS.

I have had nothing but problems with my 2001 Dakota due to the electronic 4WD motor or selonoid. I've put it in 6 times since new, and it burnt it up 4 times. So it's never worked right. It even got stuck in 4WD one time and I had to drive it several days before it decided to go back to 2WD. I'd look there first if you have the electronic switch.
