Dash lights are on with no key on the ignition

What is your question?

I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota and the dash lights are on even when the truck is not running and the keys are not in it. I just replaced the whole ignition because the tumbler stopped working

What makes this problem better or worse?

Nothing besides disconnecting the battery when not driving the truck
