94 dakota V8, backfired once and shut down. Restart after pulling over ran good

What is your question?

for about 3mi down the road, then just lost power and won't restart. Timing lines up I have fire and fuel. No codes in system. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

OK , so you can type! That's a start....now back to the compression thing.....IF you have fuel(checked pressure and injectors pulsing?) ...AND you have spark (at the plug) , then the only thing left is it's not breathing right..........check compression.post results!! BE SURE timing is on compression stroke. And just for my info , so I can understand better , HOW are you verifying the timing?
