That makes sense - the V/6 is simply the V/8 minus two cylinders.. I’m pretty sure it’s interchangeable - local salvage dealers have the ultimate interchange information.

This is assuming both vehicles have the same drivetrains - BOTH vehicles are 2wd - OR - BOTH vehicles are 4wd.. Transmission is not directly interchangeable between 2wd and 4wd ... Rear of transmissions are totally different - which will require complete disassembly of both transmissions to exchange the necessary parts - - therefore they are not *reasonably* interchangeable..
