how do you fix a manual transmission without replacing it.

i can get the shift lever into reverse but when i go to release the clutch it grinds. i would like to know if there is a way to fix this without buying a new one.

You will have to replace the clutch, it will involve removing the manual transmission, but only replacing the clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing.
