Driver side door won't close unless I press the door handle, what do I do?

Something inside the door panel is causing it to hang up like that, I suggest taking it to a compitent repair center to diagnose the problem.

The door handle IS NOT supposed to be "out away from the door" that IS the open position and it will not latch .. It should be just like the passenger side is .. Suspect broken return spring in the door handle or latch assembly... This is usually a task that's beyond the DIY'ers capability .. Suggest visit auto repair facility.. See other answer.
