My 2008 Dodge Avenger started running erratic @ 70MPH
The default light came on.
What is your question?
I pulled over & shut down the vehicle.
I checked the manual & it read that this light was the Electronic Control Throttle.
However, when I started the car back up it ran fine.
Should I be concerned. Did this reset itself?
RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 2008 Dodge Avenger. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
Suspected that too!... This actually ought to be considered a safety hazzard and recalled by Chrysler!!.. This can cause the vehicle to suddenly loose acceleration or even stall, that's a safety issue!! Unwanted deceleration can be as dangerous as unwanted acceleration, like Toyota had!
I agree. I was told that there is not a recall at this time. The car has only 70K miles but since it is a 2008 it is out of the warranty of 5 years/ 100,000 miles.
Thanks for the reply. I had the scan test done & the result was a bad electronic throttle control unit.
That's exactly what I suspected... Common problem on these vehicles!!.. Just curious, which engine you got?
2.4 four cylinder

Maybe they will issue some kind of program deal.. Hopefully!
Yes, it would be nice to get reimbursed for the cost. Thanks again for your help!
