What is your question?
I want to replace the timing belt, belt tensioner, and water pump for my 2000 Chrysler Voyager at my local auto mechanic school. I need to purchase the parts in advance. The dealership's price:timing belt $72.8; belt tensioner $79.5; water pump $242.oo. The retail shop, such as Auto zone's price:timing belt $29.99; belt tensioner $21.99; water pump $31.99. The guy from the dealership told me their parts are better and aftermarket parts may not even fit. I can't decide where to buy! The vehicle has 72,000 miles on it. Any advice is appreciated!

One thing most people don't realize is that for the most part factories do not make their own parts. They source them out to different places so in some cases the aftermarket part is the same as oem. There are some cases I recommend going with factory parts so you get the exact part that came with the vehicle like sensors and some seals. In your case after market would be fine but I would go with new over any re manufactured parts and I would look for a higher quality than Auto Zone like NAPA.
i try to buy quaulity parts from napa or carquest some parts from the big box stores use lower quality materials good brand belts are gates or dayco
