Car has not been starting, intermittently, x6mos.

No noise made when turning key other than a 'click' or two. Mechanic 4mos ago in Marion County, FL couldn't find problem but he sold me a battery saying the cells were dead. Problem fixed very temporarily. Problem kept happening intermittently over the next 2mos. Mechanic in Orlando, FL had the car every day for 1mo (while I was away)and said he couldn't find the problem-- it wasn't happening to him (cold start, running for long time, all times of day). It started again for me every time I get into it since i've been back x1 wk now. Could it be ignition? Ignition switch? Starter? PLEASE HELP... i have appointments, interviews and no other help...
