Car turns over very hard like a dead battery or bad starter I have checked Both they both taste good any ideas what caused this not able to get car started

They told me battery tested 12.5 at 80% charge I tried jumpstarting didn’t do anything took the starter out Had it tested it passed said it was a good starter
Ok, assuming the battery and starter are indeed in good shape.
Have seen belt driven components lock up and the engine would still crank but could not rotate fast enough for the engine to start.
Alternator - ac compressor are a couple of possibilities..
Can be tested by removing drive belt then crank engine.

Don’t see it too often but I’ve had 5 or 6 with this problem.. Different makes. It’s just one ‘kinda odd’ possibility.

Should be able to bypass compressor with shorter belt until repair can be completed. Glad ya found the problem.
