How do I take out my key it is stuck?

Floor shift?

Lightly tap the key with your hand to turn it completely off. Make sure you don't have any codes stored in the computer

I had this same problem. The tow truck driver pounded the key in to the ignition with his hand and was able to turn it. The problem was with the lock cylinder. I got a new one from the dealer ($35?) and followed a video on YouTube about replacing it. I think it took 30 minutes.
