Is it the compressor or just replace the belt, it was working before belt broke

Have a 03 3.5L Concorde. Wife's car so it has to work! There is no hi-head pressure cutout switch on a/c pump. You should have 2 two speed fans for cooling rad etc. Make sure both fans operate at hi-speed (by relay) and your a/c charge is not to great. The hotter the weather the more cooling you need. Will be putting my 4th belt on this spring (a little more blood lost). The a/c belt is behind the serpentine belt, neither has a spring loaded idler. If you hear a little belt squeal on hot day test a/c refrige amount.
Not yet ,to much me for not in price but my labor belt makes me mad lol.
2 different engines.2.7L and 3.2L either way,the belt is under $20.00.it would be a good time to check the idler pulley,and compressor pulley,to see if one is froze up.if not, the belt may have just been very old.

better get that a/c going.gotta be HOT in CA!!57 here right now,high today 82..well i just checked LA weather,about same as here.
