i want to try and replaced the keys first but don't know of they are electronically chipped anyone have any idea

Not all of the keys are "Chipped". If your original key has a BLACK rubber cover, it is a standard key. If it is Grey in color your key has a transponder. If you use a standard key in a vehicle equipped with the "SKIMM KEY" Option, the vehicle will start momentarily , then stall. It will not run.
