Cold air coming out of the defrost vents not the dash

The possible problems for your concern may be the Mode Door Actuator, the Mode Door Shaft, HVAC Control head or associated wiring. I recommend you take your vehicle to your local dealership for inspection and diagnosis. With the proper diagnostic tools, they can manually actuate the mode, blend air and recir air doors to verify if they are working properly.
