Mwhat other make and model/yr automatic front wheel drive transmissions are compatible or interchangeable with a 2004 Chevy venture automatic transmission front wheel drive

After changing trans fluid and filter kit my axle broke along with a piece of some kind of housing that seems like an axle extension housing or something that goes into trans. Not sure of correct ne of part but it caused fluid to leak out and car stopped moving into gear with a grind noise when put in park position. Been told it's easier and cheaper to replace trans is this true and what might this part be. Are there compatible or interchangeable transmissions from other years or make and model that I can get a tranny from

Nothing. Car won't go into gear
