Changed air filter and Malfunction Indicator light came on

What is your question?

I just changed the air filter and the cabin filter and when finished I started the car and found the Malfunction indicator light on.

What makes this problem better or worse?

It is better than before I changed the air filter.

The ONLY possibility is some-thing is amiss with the air filter replacement.. Re-check your work - wire connection to the MAF sensor - big rubber hose back in proper place and secured .. Possibly another wiring connection or wiring pinched / damaged. This should not be a complicated diy install.
