Same thing happened to me. The plastic bushing that holds the cable End to the shift selector broke on mine. Once I found the problem it was only a $10 part.

Hello, I have a 06 chevy trailblazer LS 2wd V6, so when you are driving it when it goes to shift from 2nd to 3rd it acts like it wants to go into 3rd but sounds/acts like its in neutral instead, going to attach what codes it is throwing, I have already replaced the 1-2 shift solenoid, 2-3 shift solenoid, and 3-2 control solenoid, and Trans fluid has been changed since, full and nothing in old fluid, and new filter. have replaced the throttle position sensor & pedal now, and it will go into 3rd after you rev it up then let off the pedal its the only gear it does this in...and it isn't throwing any codes now Could someone please help me get my SUV get back on the road, i'm in a bad abusive relationship and i can't get out of it till my SUV is running again...
