have you checked for vacuum leaks, engine area?are the coils good?those are around $70.00 each.you could unplug each coil one at a time,to make sure the engine idle changes.if idle changes, runs rough, that coil is good.if no change in engine idle, that coil is bad.then plug it back up and go to the next one.and yes the cam sensor could cause this, but you have to check it with it plugged up.you would need a wire piercing tool to do this.check for vacuum leaks first, then check the coils.post findings.
About 2 weeks ago before the sputtering happened. My engine light came and told me to replace engine oil. I use high mileage oil and was not due for a oil change for another 2000 miles. If I get a oil change will this help?
no,i don't think so.i don't think your check engine light came on and told you to change the oil.when the check engine light comes on,your computer has detected a fault somewhere and stores a code/codes in the computer.you need to have those codes read and post the codes here.you may have had a service engine soon,or maintenance required light to come on,letting you know it was time to change the oil,but not check engine light for oil change.take it to autozone, they will read codes and print them out, free!
