It wouldn't go padt 45. Had to turn around and head back home. The acceleration kept dropping and it wouldn't accelerate past 40, then 35, and 30. The car turns on and stays on, but won't go past 40.

Yes. My husband changed the spark plugs, but the light is still on.
Suspect 'throttle by wire' issue .. There is an accelerator pedal position sensor (APPS) that sends a signal to the throttle body position sensor (TPS) .. These two sensors are not getting along with each other for some reason that needs a scan test to help determine why! .. It could be either one of the sensors or the wiring to these sensors and possibly a mechanical issue .. No way to to guess at it that will help.

It's usually not a big deal or extremely expensive to repair .. Your local independent auto repair shop should be equipped to take care of this .. The Trailblazer has proven to be a good vehicle .. Good luck with it!
