The *shift cable*. has popped off the transmission linkage and needs a new retainer grommet installed to prevent this from happening again! .. GM don't know anything about this repair grommet, thay want to sell you the high dollar cable assembly and labor for installation .. The repair I'm speaking of takes less than 10 minutes!
