What is your question?
The rubber on my heater hose is leaking coolant. Is it possible to just replace the heater hose? Or do I HAVE to replace the whole assembly. The rubber piece is "bonded" on one side. Is there a way to remove it and replace using connector?
Sounds easy enough! This hose does carry coolant correct?? My original issue is my vehicle is overheating, I have to keep adding fluid to the radiator bc it's dry but the reservoir is full. I noticed liquid leaking from this hose. So it does have to be replace regardless. Just hoping it solves the issue. I just changed the radiator and thermostat so definitely trying to figure this out ASAP
Thanxs pushrod, how do I get this metal piece unbonded from the rubber and steel part without damaging the steel portion that goes into the manifold ??
Dremel tool with cut off wheel - or equivalent - cut only the outer metal jacket in two places - 180° apart. That’s actually a crimped on clamp - rubber hose is inside that metal jacket - ok if hose gets cut - just try not to damage the ‘inner’ portion of the fitting that the hose is connected to. New hose can be clamped to fitting with conventional hose clamp. Good luck!
