I had a power steering line break. I spliced the line. Took it for a test ride and after about 100 ft I lost all power steering. pump is making no noise. I tried bleeding the system but still no power steering.

It was both pressure line and return. There is no leaks and tank is full of fluid. the pump is not making any noise either.

Pump must be toast! .... There’s so much pressure in the high pressure line that I can’t think of a diy method of splicing that would actually hold - therefore the pump must not be pumping any fluid. A compression union might hold on the metal portion of the high pressure line but as far as splicing the rubber section - I don’t see how that can be done successfully. Pressures can reach upwards of 1,500 psi. - - that is IF the pump is working! Good luck!

Ok thanks that's what I was wondering if the pump was bad even though it's not making any noise. it was the metal lines that I spliced with compression fittings.

Evidently the pump is not operating internally - can’t imagine 0 psi for any other reason.. IF pump were working - it’d at least be making a whining noise.
