If i have a bad ignition coil will my truck cutoff when the defrost is turned on

The wire connector hooked to the a/c compressor can be temporarily disconnected to test engine operation - - engine running test. With compressor wire disconnected - does engine still stall when defrost it turned on? Good luck!
