How do I pass smog when I failed for something that don't exist?

If the EGR valve doesn't exist that is a problem. That vehicle came equipped with an EGR valve.
your 4.2L trailblazer does not have an egr valve. Your engine uses valve timing to take care of what once used to be done by the egr valve. all the inspection station has to do is enter N/A on the egr valve system part/test even though it list one on the emissions label, there is not one, they should know this!
Thank you!! I agree they should know this info and it's upsetting that my time is wasted having to go back to DMV. I just hope I don't get charged for a resmog.
BAR discussed this matter with General Motors Engineering, and the California Air Resources Board. good luck with it...
There's a plate where the valve should be. Factory installed plate.
Yep,that should be there also(the plate)..EGR Valve Block Off Plate..don't know about CA, but in NC if you already paid, the DMV gives you 30 days to get it fixed if it fails, and you don't have to pay again when you go back..
