My SUV has not been driven in 11 months. After I got the battery replaced, front and rear brakes replace the "service engine soon" light came on. I took the vehicle to Advance Auto and was given the codes as below: B0017 B0029 P0014 U1000

The "Service Engine Soon" light is coming on in this case because of the P0014, not the U1000. U1000 is kind of a supplemental code to other existing codes, indicating a lack of data communication. Most often, resolving another more substantial trouble code focused on a specific activity will in turn result in preventing return of the U1000. The P0014, in this case, is related to the position of the camshaft phase. The position of the cam phase angle is more than 1.5 degrees off from the desired angle for 20 seconds or more. Bottom line: testing is required for this system to determine the root cause of the concern. (By the way, the B codes are air bag system related, and will cause the air bag warning light to come on. It has nothing to do with the Service Engine Soon light though.)
