Ran outta gas and now it wont start. Put 4 gallons in it and wont start.

Ran outta gas on hwy last night. Walked to store and got 4 gallons of gas and walked back and put it in. Still wouldn't crank. Checked all fuses, even poured gas straight into the carb, and still nothing. Just turns over and over and wont catch. Even disconnected my battery and left it unhooked for a bit and hooked it back up and still nothing. What else can I do.
