Did you ever solve the problem? I have an 06 Sierra doing the exact same thing you described and have done everything exactly as you have. Could you help me out???
Living in south Texas without ac in the summer is a chore!
There is a short in the harness I went threw start taking wires and found a break need two people have one sit up and watch compressor and have to follow wires to compressor start moving harness and compressor will kick on that was my problem could be yours
Did you compressor sometimes come and and go off real quick and about 10 seconds later do it again? Because sometimes mine will do that then it won't work at all and then boom! It works perfect for how ever long it wants!

Well I wiggled the 3 prong plug that goes to the sensor and then I wiggled the plug on the ECM. Where was your break at?
Between the sensor and compressor
Alright I will try it when I have time! This has to be it.
Yea especially after everything I tried I was lost
