Died on freeway like out of gas(had 3/4) no fuel pressure. Changed relay and pump, seemed logical-- no current to fuel pump, checked codes NO CODES no power to either side of the relay when turned on on or starting mode. What could be the problem.
havent tried that, since it was all disconnected to replace the pump but thats a good suggestion. was removing the key assembly but stopped at the steering wheel/after removing the airbag- didnt have a puller
Don't pull that steering wheel... You don't have to remove steering wheel to replace the switch!!!.... Good luck with this!
are you sure ? the repair manual said to.....I will re-examine....it is the key component i.e. I will have an ignition key and i for the door
NO!!.. The ignition SWITCH is the electrical part with wires going to it ... It is NOT the lock cylinder where the key goes in!... Search YouTube for a video showing how this is done before you do any more work!!!!
checked that its fine.
Using a real scanner> functional test> turn on pump...'no'.... Test 'ALL' fuses with a test light (ALL FUSES)!!!... Now, I assume you have tested ignition spark??
not sure about spark, but by passed the circuit and pump runs...........have asked a few mechanics and they suggest that the key has gone bad. Does that have any basis
With the pump running will engine start?.. By-passed circuit ..how?
