I just bought the truck and 2 days later, I went to the mall (had to climb a steep hill). When I came out to leave, started the truck and noticed the tapping. But after a while the tapping quieted down and went away.

Well low oil pressure certainly will cause engine noises!

Highly recommend manual oil pressure test - that is using a TEST gauge kit. Good luck!
