Had a water pump go bad truck overheated and died. Ever since then it will crank but not start. Checked fuel pressure(11.3 psi) replaced fuel filter just to be safe. Still nothing. Proceeded to give it a full tune up (plugs, wires, dizzy cap and rotor, EGR, air filter, battery and cables) on top of replacing my radiator, water pump, thermostat housing and thermostat.(as advised by my local shop) STILL WONT START but cranks like a champ and sounds like it wants to start.....any help or ideas are welcome I'm all ears as I'm stumped.....
How long has your 1993 Chevrolet S10 had this problem?
A few weeks

That Iron Duke engine is as tough as they come - however if the engine stalled due to overheating - it probably has suffered internal damage - so compression test is indeed good idea.. It must have gotten *extremely* hot to damage that engine! Good luck!
Average loss of 2.7 to 3.1 lbs of pressure per cylinder compared to what oem compression is stated to be. Also noticed it was a quart low on oil when I did the oil change after the overheat
Hello, then it would have to be fuel, spark, air related. Engine timing. If you have fuel, spark, air and proper timing with sufficient / proper compression, the truck starts. Get down to the basics.
Hadn't thought of the timing I will have to go check that
