There are a few possibilities .. First thing to check is ALL running gear lubricants to be sure they are at proper fill level... Next try shifting into 4x4 HI when the noise starts to see if that makes a difference .. The universe joints will also need to be checked .. Next is a test drive by a qualified mechanic!
I ahifted into 4x4 hi and the noise isnt there its oly after about 55 and then the noise gwts louder as it decelerates and stops once it pops
You've misunderstood - next time while you are driving and the noise starts -THEN shift into 4x4 HI to see if noise changes or stops completely! .. I am very familiar with this vehicle - this test is an important step to determining the problem... IF the noise stops after shifting into 4x4, I know exactly what the problem is! You can shift into 4x4 HI at any time, so 'when' noise STARTS - shift to 4x4... Post results.
It stopped the noose conpletley when i shifted into 4x4 hi it shook a lottle bit a little more vibration than normal but it stopped the noose completley
There is a vacuum switch that controls 4x4 mode mounted on the transfer case that has failed and causing front axle gear grinding (whining) noise while in 2wd .. There are 3 vacuum hoses attached to this switch .. Google the NAPA part number for pictures... Takes a 7/8 wrench to R&R this switch. .. It a little tough to access so you might want to consider having repair shop install it for you. NAPA PART # NOE 6002935 I'm not going to type out all of the exact details on how the 4x4 system works here but > That'll FIX this problem!!
Thank you so much i forst thought it was front axels so ive replaced alot of the feont end just trying to find this problem
