Because if this battery is in excess of 5 years old, then I would start there and work my way out from there. I can't tell you how may of these drivability issues arise from less than adequate electrical power, as things start to get weird when your electrical system is functioning with less than normal operating voltage. The other piece of advise I have for you is to have your issue diagnosed first, before you call around, pricing out a suspected cost of repair(s).
