What is your question?
Hello there! I have a 2006 Chevy Malibu LT with a 3.5 liter v6 OHV engine. The highest my temperature ever got was 225 degrees in stop n go traffic without ac on and 90 degrees outside and my fans never kicked over automatically at that point. From what I have noticed they only come on when I turn on the ac / heat. Heat / ac work pretty well though I most of the time only keep it on the lowest setting. Had the cooling system flushed a couple weeks ago and goes to a little above normal (214) degrees at about the highest. I’m just curious to see if there is a specific temperature for these engines that would automatically kick over the radiator fans. I’ve looked just about everywhere and can’t find a answer.
What makes this problem better or worse?
I just don’t know what temperature my cooling fans are supposed to come on at
How long has your 2006 Chevrolet Malibu had this problem?
I think this car might have had this when I got it back in December of 2018

Start engine and let it idle - transmission in park - fans should turn on in about 30 minutes - periodically observe coolant temperature to make sure engine does not over-heat. It is common for fans to remain off until engine has reached the predetermined temperature - I’ve seen coolant temps reach 230° before fans engage - normal operation.
IF engine is not overheating - no worries! Confirm engine coolant level is FULL.
