Can code p1189 be caused by an oil leak

This code sets when the oil pressure sensor circuit goes open. Most of the time this is due to a failed oil pressure sensor. Check the wiring to the sensor and make sure the wiring is not damaged or unplugged. If the wiring is okay, replace the oil pressure sensor. The sensor is located on the front side of the engine block, near the oil filter. The sensor contacts actually go bad. This is more or less just a switch and when the internal contacts go bad, the computer will set this trouble code and will also shut down the cruise control
